Hello there! Welcome to the world of using garden spaces as playgrounds, adventure zones, healing sanctuaries, and places of growth. Iā€™m so glad that you are here!

My name is Danna, your local recreation therapist (CTRS) specializing in using the garden as a therapeutic space. When not working with kids and teens, you can find me sipping on coffee out in the woods of the driftless area, playing in the soil, spending time with those I love, and cuddling my sweet dogs.

Through my career working with individuals in nature and my own time in nature, I believe that nature has a profound impact on our well-being. I have seen it be very beneficial for those I have worked with that have anxiety, depression, individuals with autism, individuals with down syndrome, those impacted by traumatic brain injuries, and so many other amazing people! By combining the principles of recreational therapy with the nurturing environment of a garden, we can unlock transformative experiences. My goal is to provide a vivid and radiant space where kids and people alike can be restored, heal, and cultivate wholeness. Ultimately using the garden as a therapeutic space where individuals can embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth!

Being well-versed in utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities, activities, and interventions is so important to me. Whether it's gardening, horticulture, art, mindfulness, or nature-based exercises, I tailor each session to meet the unique needs and goals of my wonderful clients.

Through compassionate guidance and a person-centered approach, I empower individuals to explore their emotions, build resilience, develop coping strategies, and enhance their overall well-being. Together, we will embark on a collaborative therapeutic journey, nurturing connections with both the natural world and oneself.

As you explore this website, you will find more information about the transformative potential of garden therapy, the services I offer, and the positive outcomes experienced by my clients. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with your loved ones in the garden!
